Thesis Statement
My theme for my collection is a streetwear brand that meets boujie . My collection would be called ¨New Bouj: Aspiring to be higher than one is.” The collection would focus on women for now. I want viewers to see that you don't have to dress up to be considered boujie . For example, I am a tomboy but I still somehow include something girly to finish my outfit. My senior collection will show a mixture of tomboy meets girly girl.

Artist Statement
Ajena’e Jordan is a fashion designer based in Washington, DC. She is currently seeking a B.S. in Visual Communication & Digital Media Arts with a concentration in Fashion Design. She also attended LIM College “Where business meets fashion”, as well as Clark Atlanta University. She also has experience in styling and retail. Her style is a mixture of tomboy meets girly girl which shows through her fashion line New Bouj. Ajena’e gets most of her inspiration from fashion mogul Teyana Taylor, designer Milan Harris, and fashion icon Kim Kardashian. Fashion has always been something she has been passionate about since she was little. She would sketch & create mini clothing lines since she was nine . Ajena’e was also obsessed with dancing & modeling ; her mom put her in modeling at the age of eight . She also went through her tomboy phase; she loved watching & playing basketball, collecting sneakers (Jordans) , and shopping in the boy section for graphic tees. Her goal has always been to be a part of the fashion industry. As she got older, Ajena’e’s style was a mixture between graphic tees and Jordans, to fitting tube dresses, and cute fashion tops. She has been determined to create a line and makes her name in the fashion industry whether it’s styling or designing; she is coming.
